Scotch Whisky industry working to meet hand-sanitiser demand

The latest on the provision of hand-sanitiser, and Scotch Whisky industry action to meet demand:

"We are in urgent discussions with government and other authorities about how Scotch Whisky companies can contribute to the production of hand-sanitiser during the coronavirus crisis.  Our industry is very willing to offer support where we can to health services, emergency services and communities in an effective and coordinated way.

"This is part of our commitment to play our full part in tackling the Coronavirus outbreak in Scotland and the UK.

"There are a number of regulatory and technical challenges to the provision of ethanol for medical use, and we are looking to Ministers in the UK and Scottish governments to act quickly to overcome these."
